THREAD SO LONG IT RIVALS CAT MONOLOGUES AND GOD TANTRUMS HANDLE WITH CAUTION
It's safe to say RblxTrade isn't in the best place at the moment, There's no shame in saying 2026 is no 2022, 2021 and certainly not on the level 2020 was. Not to say that we will never improve once more, we are, the original forums have been restored, something that was only dreamed of for years. Naturally, this has lead remaining community members to speculate and argue about what reason is "killing the forums"
Anyone familiar with this side of the community knows what i'm going to say, Leoism (as well as midcord, which Leoism promoted) are the root cause of the state we're in today.
In November 2022, the original forums were deleted, Resulting in the creation of RblxTradeForumsReborn (RTR), Lead by Lionswordleo12, a former RT moderator who was known for abusing his power (Such as giving 1 month bans for posting off topic threads in ATR), Much like Doedz. This doesn't make a good reputation for a moderator. Now imagine this same individual running the continuation of the forums, Lacking the theme or features that made RT special, on a free hosting site on a completely blank slate.
Everyone who moved (which was a fraction of the userbase) either did because they were a friend of the man in charge or were that desperate to continue the forums. I would know, before i was banned i genuinely wanted RTR to succeed, I was one of the main members advertising the new site and designing it's logo. I supported RTR until I faced the reality of Leoism, the way i use the internet and the way that forum was moderated in 2023 were simply incompatible.
By this point, the Leoist friend group which would later go by the name AHC (which we will talk about later) had consolidated power, Everyone on their site supported them, except for a few minor arguments with TEM. There were other forumers outside of the Leoist sphere that wanted them to lose their power, the problem being that they simply wanted the forums to die, not to be reshaped to what they always were prior to this point.
After months of Leoism, cracks already began to form. When Noova's IP was leaked by U2THX the moderation team handled it idiotically, They knew that the doxxing method was a Roblox account, Yet they still decided that ProBoards, the service on which RTR was hosted was the problem, They claimed it has poor security when that simply wasn't the case, IP addresses are only viewable to staff, and VPNs were never banned.
The move to Forumotion was similar to the first forums being deleted, The majority of posts were lost. The list goes on about the flaws of this site, It didn't take long for everyone to become tired of it. Activity had dropped even further, As a last ditch effort, Leo reopened ProBoards RTR and locked Forumotion RTR. However this did not bring any activity, and there were no updates.
Instead of trying to update and revive the community, Leo opted to abandon it, That would be fine if he gave ownership to someone who cared (which did eventually happen). But he didn't, Leo let the forums rot in the one year period between September 2023 and September 2024.
Where were the forumers now? Well all of the forumers deemed good enough were shepherded into a Midcord server known as Ashbash's Hangout Club (AHC), It is the antithesis of everything RT is. A closed off, private server which followed Leoist rules in such a way they were even more strict. While the forums rotted, AHC thrived. All in the pursuit of "Moving on", a concept Leoists worship, They will come after you if you continue to have interests that they have personally stopped enjoying. AHC was also an affront to the culture of RT, it had no culture.
Much like it's predecessor, RTR it used brute moderation force to crack down upon any drama let alone provocative jokes and even simple actions like swearing. But with it's closed off nature, anyone they deemed to be causing problems could be cast away never to return or even see what is mentioned in there. This created the perfect echo chamber.
It wouldn't be until October 2024 that the old ways would return to the community, Yours truly purchased ownership of the forums. Activity began to return and rules were lifted, It seemed as if Old RT was finally making it's comeback. All of that would be demolished not even a month later when i refused to keep TEM banned over a drama which wasn't my problem. When discussing my purchase with Leo he mentioned some "agreement" that i was never going to respect. Because RTR would be my website, If he didn't like it he could leave like he had been for a year.
After that drama ended i was reinstated, But not as the Owner, as merely an Admin, meaning i was locked out of a few important powers such as assigning new moderators. Leo returned as the owner but did absolutely nothing. This time is when the Leoist - Mnep5ist split began to be known.
This happened two more times, that's right, the same exact situation. The third one (RW3) being the most devastating, leaving RTR deleted for several months (That drama was really fun though)
In conclusion, RT is in it's current state because the Leoists promoted discord which depleted activity, Moderated so heavily that the old RT Culture was erased, And couldn't be bothered to revive the site when it was dying. And yes, this thread was created in response to the recent "discussions" involving me, Noova and Ruler Leader about what RT is.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is the longest thread i've ever created, In fact, i'm sure of it.
